You might think I’m stupid, might think I’m darn brave, but my best friend is now a free man. It ain’t right, havin to have people work cause of their skin color. I used to think it was, If you didn’t know me, Hi, I’m Huckleberry Finn! The fellas that are keepin me, Chad and Peyton, I think they are going overboard on this whole slave thing. It’s like, one after another. Also, they have 2 sons, whit and Tyler. And you know what that means? Its means more slaves, some to take care of whit and Tyler. Our plantation Is becoming full of slaves but Chad won’t sell his slaves for nothing. And to make it even worse, the Civil War is about to start! Can you keep a secret? Jim and I are trying to free some slaves, and one of Jim’s good friends, Kevin. We’re going to try to get him out tonight. Well, last night something terrible happened. Kevin and I got caught. Jim had enough time to sneak away and that for me to meet here there again, tonight. Me and Jim’s got a plan! Jim and I now got enough money to try to buy Kevin! And after we buy Kevin, Jim’s gone get some money somehow to try to buy his family. Kevin is an excellent blacksmith, so let’s hope he can get us some good money. But to top it all off, we have good and sorta bad news. Chad’s getting very sick, and he’s getting worse every day. A doctors done came and everything!! We just don’t know what’s wrong!! I got me some bad news. My keeper, Mr. Chad Nelms has passed away. Peyton’s in pieces, and we don’t know what happened. Just that he died in his sleep. Good news comes out of it, though! That means all of Jim’s family and Kevin is now some free people! Jim is finally going to live a life he will want to, with his family. And me? I’m happier than ever, with my mama. You would have never guessed.
